LifeTeen Youth Camp 2006 was great! Come, Taste and See! Experience Jesus... I sure did! (Part 1)

Well, i guess the title says it all... I know lots of my friends who went for camp will also have the same feeling, but this was special, for lots of reasons. This was my first ever camp, and it was great, i got to settle into camp life fairly quickly, and had no complaints... Too bad the camp was short... Oh wel, we'll all meet again every week! hehe.... No complaints here, then!

Anyway, i had lots of good memories of this camp, and i met a few new frens as well as old ones back... Man, it was good... And here's how it all happened....

(BTW, I won't be typing too much details here, as im sue most of me pals have already gone for this camp, and will have experienced the same thing.. I will be typing my view on the camp, how it's like and so on.. Sessions and Prayer Ministry will not be written about here... Maybe next time.. Oh, and this will be divided to 3 posts, one for each day-Ed.)

DAY 1 - 27th May 2006

It started off on Saturday, when i checked in... The moment i went inside the school i tought "woah, this place was big! It's gonna be great!". Fine, then i went to register and was told where me room was. Problem is, the girls get to stay in the new fine secondary schools, while us guys were allcated the mini-camous, a few blocks of wooden rickety sheds with fine carpets (actually it was a good, normal classroom that we slept in).... Fine, fair enough... The good thing was the toilets were just at the back of me place, the bad thing was the pump and flush went bust. Got to settle in fairly quickly, and arranged me stuff before heading out for the 1st agenda on the setlist, the intro..

1st thing, the intro and ice-breakers. Well, it started off fine, and me mate's band' LifeTeen Soldiers, performed 1 song (only one?) and the rest was fine.. The ice breaker was damn funny... We were divided into groups according to color, and then we played "(fill the name) Says: and it was hillarious! We mixed with other groups of different colours, and it was a ruckus! Eventually we finished, settled down and then Lunch break.. Mmm, the lunch was great (hehe) and delicious, but that's another thing...

Then it was the 1st of 6 sessions throught the 3 days, "Who Is Jesus?" with a mini-skit, "The Champion". It was funny, with Dom and Deon acting it out... Was like watching Sonny Liston fight Cassius Clay... Then the speaker for the camp, Mr. Jude Antoine (or just plain ol' Jude) gave his first of his repetoire of talks, and stunning as it was brilliant. He talked about who is jesus, and so on... Then we had a general discussion on what is me expectations of this camp, and who is Jesus to me... Me group was with Johnny and the others... It was fine.. hehe...

Then break time, and wash up... I quckly had a bath with cold water, then went off for tea and biscuits, English style... Then we had the opening mass, and then we had an opening mass, saw over by the Preist who came in, Mr. Wong. The mass procession went on smoothly, and me mates were doing the choir, while I carried the procession banners. It was normal.. Then dinner time. Dinner was great too, and the canteen had a mashed potato making machine, and it was delicious! Too bad the machine is only avaialbe in 3 schools in KK, and not in mine..

Then, after eating, drinking and chatting, it was Praise and Worship time! And it was great, like any othe P&S sessions in LifeTeen or during this camp! hehe... I forgot in what order did we sing the songs... Then it was Session 2, "Where Is Jesus" and with an accompaniying skit, "Torn Hearts". It was very sad, and emotional, and i cried to be honest, coz it was that touching... Another great talk (no one was bored or tired, that's how good it is..) and then Prayer Ministry Time. Then, finally it was super, and lights out.

When it came to bed time, it was miserable for me... The damn mosuitoes kept on biting me hand and face, up till i had to cover meself in whole, and still they kept biting! Damn! Finally managed to sleep, and that's it.

(Experiences in Day 2 coming soon...)
